Cher Lloyd
On the show tonight we are featuring an 18 year old rapper slash singer known as Cher Lloyd. Her fame came from participating in the UK X Factor show so she's straight from reality TV. Before she participated in X Factor she was on another singing contest known as Text Factor... I don’t quite know what this is, but Cher came in second with this competition. She was born and brought up in the UK but is of Polish part Roman through her parents. During school she was very music and studied performing arts. Now she had actually auditioned for X Factor twice before getting through - but she said the problem was that she was simply singing ballads. It's only once she had time to reinvent herself as an artist that she got through. On the show her mentor was Cheryl Cole, though she was eliminated from 4th place. She has obviously still managed to get a record deal and be quite successful! Her single Swagger Jagger was released on the 7th of August and her album "Sticks and Stones" will be released in early November! Play or Pause?

Emeli Sande
This week on the show we're featuring a singer known as Emeli. Her first name is actually Adele! But she goes by the stage name Emeli which is her middle name. She was born and bred in Scotland and is 24 years old. Her music is usually soul and RnB. Some people call it "trip-hop". Here's a fun fact. She's educated, people! She studied medicine before moving onto her singing career. So she first got known when she was featured on Chipmunk's track, 'Diamond Rings' which reached the top 10 in the UK. Apart from featuring on a few single, she’s also quite the songwriter. She's written for artists such as Leona Lewis, Tinie Tempah, Susan Boyle and Cheryl Cole. The song we’re featuring today is her debut single, and her debut album is going to be released in January next year. It's called "Heaven". Vote Play or Pause?

Radio Ink - Rocket
Radio Ink are a Sydney based trio consisting of two DJs, Dic Money and Ronny Clark as well as their singer Miss S. The way they met each other and started up is quite a 21st century story, you could say! Dic Money and Ronny Clark were at a club and they basically saw Miss S performing live there. To put it simply, they myspace-stalked her and talked to her on MySpace chat ... I didn't even know MySpace had a chat, but low and behold, they have tried to catch up with Facebook! After a series of 5am chats the three of them decided to start their band Radio Ink! Their style is electro-pop and I am loving their first single. It's called ROCKET. You guys know what to do! Michael Minds is Delirious and Scrumdidilyumptious
Michael Minds. He's like the Ian Carey Project. But not really. Started his work at the age of 15, known as Jens Kindervater and name on stage is DJ Hens. Sounds like a chicken but it still works. Began with mates while playing in small clubs and pubs on weekends that he had free, and then graduated from school in 1994. Many of us were still lil bubs at this time! At university he partically completed his university course in engineering, but later found he had no further intentions of structuring buildings and the like. Instead, he reverted back to his music After some time working away at projects, he partnered with some people and produced his first set of musical works, moved to Belgium in he 90s and then took over trance and techno genres, of which he usually won in competitions. The reputation of his style of work was later recognised, and became a member of the Real Booty Mates, Junkfood Junkies and 2 Vibez. On a side note, yes he worked and produced Cascada in their early years. Soon after he became Michael Minds, and his success drove him to be an act of the DJ series "Summer of Love" The music video suits just nicely..so vote it in!

Gypsy and The Cat
It's amazing to see so much talent in the Australian Music Industry lately, us Aussies are beginning to produce some killer content. Gpysy and the Cat, where do I start? They have built their bricks right in our backyard, Melboure, and since then, determined the genre Rock would determine their direction. Don't be deceived, they are not a clone, copy, nor replica of Empire of The Sun. Initially two Melbourne DJs who placed music in the centre of their lives, they began by clouding ideas after realising there could be great potential. Several inspirations later, they became well known offshore by playing their first live concert in London. With a killer of a name, they began writing in August, and their single 'Jova Vark' sounds like Joan of Arc, but they have albums worth of content..and they better not pull a Spice Girls with 200 and counting songs unreleased songs! They started out with MySpace and the blogging world took them to a new level; word travels fast, and with their current success they could potentially be looking for a few band members. You could say this song is mellow, slow, well paced and relaxing, but behold, there is something deep down inside..does it make you want to stop the world and think of memories, or at least pause what you are doing and take a long hard listen?

Friends Electric
Play or pause! Where you rate or hate a song that we feature! If you like it, you text PLAY to 0405 404 500. If you hate it, text PAUSE to 0405 404 500. The more PLAY we get, the more chance of it being played; and so this week we’ve got Friends Electric. They’re a electro-pop band are a relatively new band to the industry, they’re based in the UK. They were snapped up with a record company very quickly and may sound familiar – done work for Kylie Minogue, Kelis (sing and comment), Ellie Goulding They were chosen by Goulding to rewrite her song, their style was favoured over every other band and artist. Now they’re working on their own songs and producing content. It’s a beautiful song on a day like this, very calm and relaxing. The beat just wants to make you do roley poley's on a hill, or run through a grass field...in hope you come out alive. They have a voice similar to Chris Martin from Coldplay, so the vocals have power. If you like it, PLAY or PAUSE it to 0405 404 500. It’s Golden Blood by Friends Electric on TripleH 100.1FM with Sohan and Chris on Saturday Vibe.

Finabah - When you're told to jump, you ask how high!
This week we’re featuring Finabah – with Fina meaning cool, hip and fine, and Bah meaning cool yeah! Now they started out with four kids who were relatively bored with summers and living in a small town, but found bashing it out to power chords in a backyard shed was for them. Six years later and they’re Queenslands most recognized pop-rock act whether it be the local pubs or clubs, or anything. They’ve done over 500 shows, over 2000 CDs without the assistance of a record company, and have the most synergistic stage show within their range. They throw themselves into the crowd so they don’t stand there like they’re nailed to the stage. And their ambition? To write big solid songs that get stuck in your head for days and really want to make the listener feel like they are part of the music…well it worked for me because it’s a happy sounding song and it makes me want to damn well jump! The band say the shiver you get when a lyric sparks your brain, or a bead hits your heard is the most important thing we do. It’s so true, how many times have you heard your favourite song for the second or third time – funny you call it a favourite after that many plays – but just how it grabs you! They’ve won rock the schools bands, the new artists initiative rock category and the chaos festival in Brisbane as well as the sounds of spring festival so they’re up there! Give it a listen and tell us what you think. Join the band wagon guys!!

Bring It On, Marvin Priest
From the east to the west, here's a ripper of a song you can call cool. The instant voice of the vocals, its rhythm, its style, and its exposure - a rocking new debut. It's not often you see A Grade work pumped out from a record label, considering they're new. Marvin's had music in his blood from his early childhood. His dad Maxi Priest toured the world with his father and soaked up the grounds of the industry relatively quickly. At the current age of 20, he's been the backup vocalist for his father and performed a few gigs, shared the stage light with his father and done duets. He was asked by UB40 to be a support act in Australia with Ragamuffin, and even collaborated with DJ Nino Brown, Brian McFadden and Ronan Keating, but also went ahead with two Australian producers which gave way to his masterpiece a little while later. Spending half a year in Australia and taken away by its offerings, he's taken the turn of the Dance genre; and his words? "I was obsessed and grew up listening to music, and so i've brought my R&Bish style with bits of reggae and infused it with pop music" Jump the wagon and text Yes or No to 0405 404 500

Two Door Cinema Club
Featured this week is Two Door Cinema Club's 'What You Know' Rocking it out from Bangor, Donadhadee, County Down, Northern Island lies a four man band who formed in 2007 after attending the same school - and funnily enough they met while they were trying to get the same girls! They brought out their first album in the first quarter of 2010 and they've amped up their style to become the new comparison to Death Cab for cutie. After meeting in a town called Baurst, the band name was brought to life by the mispronunciation of 'Tudor Cinemas' - instead, Two-Door Cinema was mistakenly said. A few EPs were released, and they were given the stage light for their work, and 2009 was the year which led them to record their very first studio album, yeah boy! Following the success of their album, they were brought in on the British Broadcasting Company's Sound of 2010 Poll in December 2009. In accordance to their fame, they released their single 'What You Know' as a free download on Tap Tap Revenge, an application on the iPhone. Join my team, if you like it, vote it! Yes! No? Text it to 0405 404 500 Take a quiz beforehand!

Natasha Khan a.k.a Bat for Lashes
This week the featured artist is a British singer-songwriter Natasha Khan, known as Bat for Lashes. She's been compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Cat Power. Her music style is ethereal, kind of folk music and poetry inflicted songs. She was a nursery school teacher before she started her band so you’ll find a trend of magic in her music, with lots of horses, wizards, court jesters and fairies. Natasha first wanted to make music when she was growing up, when she would watch movies like The Wizard of Oz and write her own cheesy love songs when listening to lots of George Michael. Natasha says, "I really loved Courtney Love and was influenced a lot by her at first, but then I realised I wasn’t very good at screaming, so I started listening to music that was more feminine, like Joni Mitchell."She also says she's influenced by film as opposed to music due to the visual element. Movies like Donnie Darko were a huge influence to her. Her music is a little different to the stuff we usually play on here, which is what play or pause is all about. We're featuring her song "Sleep Alone" - check it out here and text PLAY (if you like it) or PAUSE (if you don't) to 0405 404 500! Sleep Alone from Bat for Lashes on Vimeo.
